SCOPE OF WORK:

Grant Writing, Fundraising

L.I.N.K.E.D is an Asian Pacific Islander Youth and Young Adults Internship program for mental health. It is hosted under Asian Pacific Couseling and Treatment Center (APCTC). This program nurtures API youth leadership to empower their community, bridge the intergenerational gap, & decolonize mental health in the Inland Empire. It is formally known as Kapwa Kabataan.

The

Breakdown

I volunteer with L.I.N.K.E.D in developing finacials for their program.

For grants, I prepared L.I.N.K.E.D to be grant ready by completing a Project Power Toolkit and Funding Strategy. I worked on the Casa Pitzer grant winning my first grant. They received $1,500. This grant allowed us to share space with local high schoolers discussing API Youth and the challenges of being an API in high schools.

For fundraising, the internship program was supported by an open mic fundraiser hosted by small grassroots community organization, Liyab Collective. The fundraiser consisted of ticket sales, the option to donate even further online, in person ticket sales, and dessert sales. This fundraiser was split into 3 ways supporting L.I.N.K.E.D, Liyab Collective, and My Haus Filipino Restaurant and Bakery. They each receive $200.

Some other tasks I volunteered in doing was market flyers to local buisnesses and tabled at a high school event to promote the API Youth Internship.

In our first year working together, we were able to generate funding for our Asian Pacific Youth internship that sustained our staff and material needs. Her attention to detail and initiative in communication ensured that everything from our narrative and numbers were on point. She made our team feel confident in the learning process of searching, applying, and receiving funding.”
